REAL MALDRID STAR, CRISTIANO RONALDO’S girlfriend has fuelled further speculation that she is pregnant.

Georgina Rodriguez posted a picture of herself to Instagram at the doctors just days after rumours spread that she was pregnant with Ronaldo’s baby.

Speculation was previously sparked with an Instagram snap of the Real Madrid ace placing his hand on the 22-year-old’s belly.

But it appears Rodriguez’s trip to the doctors was to visit Dr Rafik Dehni who specialises in plastic surgery.

Dehni has dealt with a number of high profile clients in the Spanish capital of Madrid.

The timing of the upload may annoy Ronaldo’s mum after she recently laughed off speculation that her son would become a father for the second time.

Speaking to Portuguese magazine Flash, Dolores Santos said: “It’s just nonsense, it’s just a hand on the belly, and as far as I know, Cristiano will not be a father again.

“I hope he has more children, he wants to be a father again, now that Cristiano has money, he can raise more children as well.”

Ronaldo already has a six-year-old son called Ronaldo Jr from a previous relationship with an unknown woman.

FC Barcelona confirm Ernesto Valverde as new coach

Barcelona confirm Ernesto Valverde as new coach

Ernesto Valverde is the new FC Barcelona coach, the Catalan club confirmed on its website, after days of speculation.

The 53 year old former Barça player replaces Luis Enrique, who was coach for three seasons.

Valverde,  previously Athletic Club Bilbao coach,  will be presented on Thursday,  along with his assistant Jon Aspiazu and former blaugrana José Antonio Pozanco who will be the fitness coach.

The FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said:  “Today I have spoken personally with Valverde and he is happy and excited about the challenge of coaching Barça.”

“Valverde has the ability, the knowledge and the experience. He promotes players from the youth teams and he has a style and a way of working like ours. He has a philosophy of the game that is very Barça and he is a hard worker. Also, he is passionate about applying technology to both training and matches.”

This will be Ernesto Valverde’s second spell at the Club, his first coming as a player between 1988 and 1990. The new Barça coach won the European Cup Winners’ Cup and the Copa del Rey in his two seasons as part of Johan Cruyff’s squad, playing 29 games and scoring 10 goals in official competition.

As a coach Valverde has a wealth of experience in Spain and abroad. He has had two spells as coach at both Athletic Club Bilbao and Greek team Olympiacos as well as having coached at Espanyol, Villarreal and Valencia. In his career he has helped his teams to no less than six trophies, five with Olympiacos and one with Athletic Club.

TRANSFER NEWS: Cesc Fabregas gives hope to Manchested United

Cesc Fabregas and Antonio Conte

FOOTBALL UPDATES - Cesc Fabregas has hinted that his future may be away from Chelsea this summer and says ‘everything can happen’ in the transfer window after being linked with a move to Manchester United.
The 30-year-old has started only 13 games in the Premier League this season and was among the substitutes in Saturday’s FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal, although he came off the bench in the second half.

Despite his lack of playing time, Fabregas has still had a major impact on Chelsea’s title-winning campaign having provided 12 assists and five goals this term.

The midfielder is reportedly on Jose Mourinho’s radar ahead of the upcoming transfer window, and Manchester United are claimed to be monitoring the Spaniard’s situation in the event that Chelsea decide to entertain offers.

Cesc Fabregas and Jose Mourinho

And while Fabregas insists he’s happy to fight for his place under Antonio Conte, he has refused to rule out the prospect of leaving Stamford Bridge.

‘I am not upset and I have nothing against Antonio. He has done a fantastic job,’ he said after Chelsea’s 2-1 loss at Wembley.

‘I think I have a very good relationship with him. He has been honest with me and me with him. I understand his idea of football very, very well. I like it a lot.

‘Every player wants to play more. This is in the genes of a winner. I am one of them and I will never put my head down or hands down. I want to fight.

‘[I’m] not necessarily [wanting to leave Chelsea], but, in football, you can never say never. Everything can happen.

‘I feel loved by the fans here. Every time I have played, I have shown I can play at the top level in this team, by far.

‘It is all about trying to change the manager’s decision, but he wants what’s best for the team.’

Arsenal emerge FA Cup winners after beating Chelsea 2-1

FA CUP FINAL: ARSENAL 2 - CHELSEA 1

FA CUP FINAL - The Welshman had a controversial role in Alexis Sanchez’s opener before heading home the late winner to defeat the ten-man Blues 2-1 at the national stadium.

The result also meant more history for under-fire boss Arsene Wenger as he became the first man to guide a side to seven FA Cups.

Following an impeccably observed minute’s silence for the victims of the Manchester terror attack, the drama soon got underway after kick off.

And the breakthrough arrived in contentious fashion.

Sanchez blocked N’Golo Kante’s clearance, possibly with his arm, and the ball sailed backwards into the Chelsea area.

The Blues defence stood and watched as Aaron Ramsey, stood yards offside, went to go for the loose ball before stepping aside for Sanchez to race onto and slot home.

The assistant referee immediately flagged for offside, but after consultation with the man in the middle, the goal was allowed to stand – much to the champions’ dismay.

Arsenal were flying now and almost doubled their advantage shortly after the quarter of an hour mark.

Mesut Ozil cut in from the right and side-footed the ball goalwards, but Gary Cahill was on hand to make a goalline clearance.

Antonio Conte was becoming more-and-more agitated on the sideline as his defence was being pulled all over the shop and they survived yet more danger minutes later.

Ozil whipped in a cross that was met by Danny Welbeck as he headed against the post, with the ball rebounding onto Ramsey and back onto the post.

Chelsea managed to regain their composure following the restart and were well on top before their chances of a comeback took a huge hint.

Having already been booked, Moses launched himself to the floor inside the Arsenal box while next to Nacho Monreal – but the eagle-eyed official spotted the dive and sent him packing.

Just as it looked like it was game over Costa drew he and his nine team-mates level with a scuffed shot following Willian’s assist – but the celebrations were shortlived.

Just two minutes later Ramsey struck with the hammer blow, heading home from Olivier Giroud’s cross to ensure the Cup will be back on display at the Emirates.

Manchester United Champions of Europe

Manchester United

Manchester United are Champions of Europe, after beating Ajax 2-0 in the Europa League final at Friends Arena in Stockholm.

It was the first time that United would win this second tier UEFA trophy.

The victory was the second trophy  won by United in the first season under Jose Mourinho’s  watch. And it is even sweeter, as it comes with a qualification ticket for the lucrative UEFA Champions League group stage next season.

Paul Pogba scored United’s first goal with an 18 yard strike, which was deflected into goal in the 18th minute.

Then in the second half, Henrik Mkhitaryan doubled United’s advantage in just three minutes of play.

MANCHESTER: Hero Pogba leads United to emotional Europa League triumph

In the most painful of weeks for their city, Manchester United provided a fitting tribute on Wednesday by winning the Europa League with one of their most clinical performances of the season.

MANCHESTER UNITED 2-0 AJAX

POGBA, MANCHESTER UNITED

The 2-0 win over Ajax came less than 48 hours after the terrorist attack which claimed 22 lives at the Manchester Arena, but United’s players deserve all the plaudits that come their way for their response in the face of adversity

Paul Pogba, himself coming to terms with the recent death of his father, was wonderful all night and scored United’s crucial first goal. Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s second soon after half-time allowed the hordes from the north-west of England to celebrate both their team and their city without the nervous tension which has engulfed many of their fixtures this season

It felt like Ajax’s fluid, attacking style of play actually played into United’s hands in the end as the space they left in behind allowed Jose Mourinho’s side to finds the gaps in which they revel. What is certain is that United felt destined to win even before Pogba opened the scoring.

As Pogba pointed to the skies after finishing off a fine team move with a deflected 20-yard effort, the emotion poured out both on the pitch and in the stands. When Mkhitaryan followed up with number two there was no less sentiment. It just felt right that this was to be United’s night.

Mourinho made a decision some weeks ago to apply his team’s focus to the Europa League in their race for a Champions League spot next term. It was a determination which courted plenty of attention, with the risk of resting United’s hopes on a single game causing concern for some.

Certainly, as the ball was cut back for John Guidetti in United’s close shave against Celta Vigo a fortnight ago, it looked as though Mourinho might have put his eggs in the wrong basket. But with this big-game performance on the most pressurised of occasions, United justified their manager’s faith.

Pogba turned in one of his most complete performances in a United shirt, Ander Herrera played a captain’s knock at the base of midfield, Marouane Fellaini was a man mountain at times, and the defensive pairing of Chris Smalling and Daley Blind dealt admirably with everything thrown at them. If United had played anything like this well for much of the season, then Champions League football could well have been assured long before they arrived in Stockholm.

But this was the perfect end to a long, difficult season. Manchester United are back in the European competition most befitting of the club’s name. What’s more, they have given Manchester something to hold onto in the most trying of times.

Dutch player retires from professional football

Kuyt
Former Holland striker, Dirk Kuyt has announced his retirement from professional football after an amazing 19-year career that saw him play top class football for clubs in England and Turkey.
36-year-old Kuyt made the announcement after leading Feyenoord to their first Dutch Eredivisie title in 18 years. He'll now move into a role with the club’s technical management team.
Kuyt in an announcement on Feyenoord’s official website said, “throughout my career, I have always followed my heart when taking decisions and that goes for this one too. To me, this feels like the right time to retire. I have had two fantastic years here since returning to Feyenoord, with this season’s title as the absolute pinnacle. I had the dream of winning trophies and becoming a champion with Feyenoord. All my dreams have come true.”

Kuyt started his career at Utrecht, where he won the Dutch Cup before moving to Feyenoord in 2003. After being the top scorer in his first three seasons with the Rotterdam club, Kuyt moved to English Premier League giants Liverpool in 2006. He scored 71 goals in 285 appearances during his six seasons with the Reds, leading them to an English League Cup title in 2012. Then he had a three-year spell with Fenerbahce, where he won the Turkish Super Lig, Turkish Cup, and Turkish Super Cup titles. He returned to Feyenoord in 2015 and won a second Dutch Cup winners medal before leading the club to the Dutch league title this season.

German female cop Bibiana first female referee Bundesliga, first in Europe

A 38-year-old German policewoman will next season become the first female referee in Europe’s top leagues after she was promoted to officiate in the Bundesliga on Friday.

Bibiana Steinhaus

Bibiana Steinhaus has previously been a fourth official for Bundesliga matches and although a German FA (DFB) referee since 1999, she knows the spotlight will be on her when she takes charge of a top-flight game.

“For every referee, whether a man or a woman, it is always a big goal to be able to whistle in the Bundesliga,” she told DFB.de.

Steinhaus, girlfriend of Englishman Howard Webb, 45, who refereed the 2010 World Cup final, said: “I have worked very hard for this in the last few years and suffered a few set-backs.

“I was quite speechless when I got the call. On one hand it was confirmation after all the hard work, but also a great incentive to keep working.

“Of course, I am aware that I will be the first female referee in the Bundesliga and will be closely watched by the media and the public,” she added, having refereed 80 second-division games since 2007.

“I am used to this pressure and am convinced I will find my feet quickly in the Bundesliga.

“I don’t seek out public attention and my colleagues know me well enough to know that.”

Her role as a police officer means Steinhaus is well used to giving clear instructions in a no-nonsense manner.

“My style during a game is characterised by intensive communication,” she said.

“I like to give an early indication of what I expect and set the players good guidelines.”

Steinhaus made headlines in October 2014 when then Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola put his arm around her shoulders, when she was the fourth official at a Bundesliga game, while arguing about a refereeing decision.

Steinhaus coolly brushed Guardiola’s arm off and the Spaniard was criticised in the German media for inappropriate conduct.

“After all, it was not just anyone but the star coach of FC Bayern,” said former world-class referee Urs Meier at the time.

And in December 2015 during a second-division game she sent off Kerem Demirbay for a second booking.

The then-Fortuna Duesseldorf midfielder was banned for five games for telling Steinhaus that “women have no place in men’s football” as he trudged off.

As a further punishment, his club made Demirbay, who now plays for Hoffenheim, referee a girl’s football match.

Steinhaus, who will referee the women’s Champions League final in Cardiff on June 1, is one of four officials who have been promoted to the list of Bundesliga referees for 2017/18.

She also refereed the 2011 women’s World Cup final and the women’s 2012 Olympic final in London.

DFB president Reinhard Grindel hopes Steinhaus will inspire girls to get involved in football.

“I’ve been following her path for many years and am very much looking forward to it,” he said.

Boxer was ‘robbed of £31,000 watch by women who showed him their pants’

Julio César Chávez Jr

The wife of a famous Mexican boxer claims a group of scantily-clad women got her husband drunk and stole his $40,000 (£31,000) watch.

Julio César Chávez Jr was caught in a compromising position in his hotel suite at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, days after losing a match against Canelo Alvarez on May 6.

Footage of the 31-year-old lying on a bed with three women showing him their underwear emerged days after his fight on Thursday, according to The Daily Mail.

Chávez is seen lying on a bed in a hotel room suite while a woman sits on his chest and another man, who is filming, pulls her pants down.
Julio César Chávez Jr

Another woman then pulls her jeans down, to show her rear.

But despite the embarrassing nature of the footage, Chávez’s wife Frida is sticking by her husband and says he was robbed of his phone, a $40,000 Hublot watch, and his $3million cheque from the fight.

She went on to blame her husband’s actions on him drinking too much and even hinted he may have been drugged.
Julio César Chávez Jr

Frida told ESPN how she and Chávez met a British man and some women at a hotel bar on May 8.
She claimed these people robbed Chávezbetween 5am and 6am, while she cared their daughter Julia, upstairs.

She said: ‘I had the cheque on the table, and when I checked the next day, there was no cheque.’
Frida then told Remezcla: ‘The watch was also gone.’

Frida said her husband, who remained with the women after his wife went upstairs, had gone through several drinks and was the victim of a trap.

Julio César Chávez Jr
A source close to the boxer’s team said the cheque was later found at the MGM Grand, in the suite where the couple slept.

But the Hublot watch has yet to be found and Chávez and his wife have questioned hotel staff and are considering legal action.

Chávez is the son of iconic Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chávez Sr.

He was trying to revitalise a career tainted by positive drug tests, weight issues and lax training.
But he proved no match against Alvarez in last week’s fight.

Sports anchor suffered miscarriage on live TV and carried on reporting

Sara Walsh
A TV presenter in the US has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage during a live broadcast – but she carried on reporting.

Sara Walsh, 39, was almost three months pregnant when she hosted ESPN Live’s Sportscentre show on the road from Alabama.

However, the sports anchor tragically lost the baby while reporting live in Tuscaloosa.

Her husband, baseball player Matt Buschmann, watched from more than 1,000 miles away, texting her details of nearby hospitals during the ad breaks.

Walsh shared her moving story on her Instagram, going into detail about her struggles with failed pregnancies before she finally gave birth to twins in February this year.

‘The road down a dark path began while hosting Sportscenter on the road from Alabama,’ she wrote.
‘I arrived in Tuscaloosa almost three months pregnant. I wouldn’t return the same way.

The juxtaposition of college kids going nuts behind our set, while I was losing a baby on it, was surreal.
‘I was scared, nobody knew I was pregnant, so I did the show while having a miscarriage.

‘On television.
Sara Walsh
‘My husband had to watch this unfold from more than a thousand miles away, texting me hospital options during commercial breaks.’

Walsh and Buschmann would suffer two more failed pregnancies before eventually finding out they were expecting twins – but by that time, they were too scared to tell people that they were expecting.

‘It was exciting news, but we knew better than to celebrate,’ she continued.

‘So I spent a third straight football season pregnant, strategically picking out clothes and standing at certain angles, using scripts to hide my stomach.’

Walsh was made redundant from ESPN earlier in the month, as she was preparing to return to the station from maternity leave.
Sara Walsh
Because of that on Sunday – which was Mother’s Day in the US – she spent the day with her new children instead.

Alongside the photo of the two of them in onesies that each read ‘good egg’, she wrote: ‘I wasn’t on TV today, and I’m not sure when I will be again, but instead I got to hang with these two good eggs.

My ONLY good eggs.

‘And I know how lucky I really am.’
