Female Student Raped And Strangled To Death In South Africa

Cornelius and Marsh were chatting in a blue Volkswagen Citi Golf, which had been given to Cornelius by her 91-year-old grandmother, when they were approached by four men.

Marsh was thrown into the boot of the vehicle while Cornelius was forced into the back seat, police said.

The pair's belongings were stolen before the university students were taken to an undisclosed location and beaten with bricks. Marsh told police that he only survived by throwing himself over a wall to escape his captors.

A witness who found Marsh told News24 that he was 'barefoot and covered in blood, completely disorientated and didn't know where he was'.

Marsh suffered head injuries and a broken arm in the attack and is recovering in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Cornelius's body was found at 8.30am on Saturday.

Police say she had been stabbed several times before being strangled. Her captors are also accused of raping her.

Two suspects were arrested on Saturday following a high-speed chase in the hijacked Golf.

The men were seen on CCTV leaping over a ditch to evade authorities before eventually being caught. A third male suspect was later arrested.

Two of the men have been identified as Vernon Witbooi, 32, and Geraldo Parsons, 26.

A South African man was left traumatized after being drugged and raped 'numerous' times over three days by three female assailants.

The 23-year-old's ordeal began when he hailed down a communal taxi in eastern Pretoria which had three young women inside. The taxi began to change direction and the man was ordered to sit in the front.

He was then injected within an unknown substance and passed out. South African Police Service Captain Colette Weilbach said: 'He stated that he woke up in an unfamiliar room on a single bed.

The female suspects then allegedly forced the man to drink an energy drink before taking turns raping him numerous times a day. The South African Police Service take all sexual offences seriously regardless of gender.

Rees Mann, of the South African Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse, said nearly 20 per cent of sexual violations reported were on men.

He said: 'Male victims are much less likely than females to report sexual abuse because police don't take it seriously.'

16-year-old schoolgirl kidnapped and raped by teenage boys in Bauchi

Two teenage boys have been arrested, allegedly for the kidnap and rape of a teenage schoolgirl in Bauchi.

The teenagers were said to have kidnapped the 16-year-old girl on her way to school and allegedly took her to a mountain in GRA, Bauchi, were they took turns to rape her.

Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, Haruna Mohammed, a Superintendent of Police, in a statement issued in Bauchi to newsmen at the weekend said Police detectives from the anti-kidnapping unit of the Command arrested the suspects. He said the arrest was made possible through an intelligence report.


“On the 26/5/2017 at about 08:00hrs, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to State Anti-kidnapping unit Bauchi arrested the following syndicate Mahmud Abdullahi, male (18) and Abdullahi Mohammed, male, (19) all of Bauchi town,” he said.

“Suspects kidnapped a 16-year-old girl of Nasarawa ward who was on her way to school, then took her to their hideout behind a mountain at GRA Bauchi and had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim against her will.

“The victim was rescued and taken to the ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi for medical examination where penetration was confirmed.”

According to the Police Spokesman, the exhibit recovered from the suspects include one tricycle with registration number DAS 440 used in kidnapping the girl.

He said Police are investigating the crime after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.

RAPE: Three men gang-rape one-year-old to coma in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command is currently on the trail of a three-man gang, which abducted a one-year-old baby from her mother, Suwaiba Ahmadu, and gang-raped her in the Danja Local Government Area of the state.

Suwaiba was returning from Angwan Bawa area in the Danja LGA, when the suspects accosted her and snatched the infant away.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday, after two members of the gang reportedly met the mother along a lonely road and lured her to take a ride with them on a motorcycle to her destination.

The suspects on getting to a junction, allegedly grabbed the baby from her mother’s back and fled to a nearby bush where a third accomplice joined them. They all raped the girl one after the other and she fell into coma.

Confirming the incident, the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Isha Gambo, said that the police had arrested one of the gang members, while the remaining two were still on the run.

He said, “At a point along the bush path, the baby, who was strapped to the back of the mother, was forcefully taken from the mother by two members of the gang.

“They ran inside the bush with the baby, where another member was waiting for them. The trio thereafter gang-raped the baby.

“One of the gang members, Saleh Suleiman, is already in the police net while the other two, whose names we cannot disclose yet, are still on the run.”

Nigerian police nabbed 20-year-old for raping 9-year-old teenage girl

The Police Command in Ogun State have arrested one 20-year-old  Segun Olaseni for allegedly having raping a  9-year-old girl.

The suspect was said to have been arrested last Sunday following a complaint from the father of the victim, Adepoju Akinyemi, who reported the matter to Sango-Ota Divisional Police Headquarters.

The state Police Public Relations Officer,  Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the father of the victim had reported that the suspect came to his house at the New life Estate Ota, while he was at his workplace and forcibly had carnal knowledge of his daughter.

Oyeyemi said on interrogation after the arrest, the suspect confessed to committing the crime, claiming that he exploited his closeness to the family since their houses were not far from each other.

He added that the suspect also said he met the girl alone in their living room from where he dragged her into her father’s bedroom and had sex with her.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect.

A 23-year-old Indian woman has in the southern state of Kerala, claiming he raped her for years.

Police said the suspect, named as Gangeshananda Theerthapada, would come to the woman's house to perform prayer rituals for her father's health.

Her mother had hoped the self-styled holy man would ease the family's woes.

Instead, her daughter claims he assaulted her at every opportunity.

On Friday night, she grabbed a knife and attacked him when he allegedly tried to rape her, and then called the police herself.

The alleged rapist was rushed to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for emergency surgery.

The hospital said in a statement: "A 54-year-old man from Kollam was admitted at 12.39am [19:09 GMT] to the hospital on Saturday. His penis had been cut (90%) and was hanging precariously. There was no way it could be stitched back.

"Plastic surgeons who are urology experts in the hospital did emergency surgery to stop the blood loss and to enable him to pass urine."

Deputy Commissioner of Police Arul B Krishna told The Times of India that the woman's father had been bed-ridden for years.

He said the victim had recounted her abuse to her mother, who may now face charges for failing to report it.

The young woman herself is not expected to face a criminal case.

Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has praised the victim's bravery, saying the castration was "a courageous and strong act".

Layla, the youngest of five siblings, said she was her father's "favourite" and her dad was like "Jekyll and Hyde", turning suddenly from her best friend to a "sexual predator".

She told how he would brazenly grope her while screaming: "I'm having sex with my own daughter".

In the chilling clip, landscape gardener Prescott told his disgusted daughter: "I can't have sex with anyone else and enjoy it, so I want to have sex with you."

After securing enough evidence, Layla passed it onto police and Prescott, of Clifton, Nottingham, was charged with five counts of rape.

He initially denied the charges but was caged last May after being convicted at Nottingham Crown Court.

Waiving her anonymity to speak out, mum-of-four Layla, of Clifton, Nottingham, said: "When I was younger I was always the favourite of my dad.

"The very first time he did it I was seven. He said he was proud of me for not wetting the bed and told me I was going to get a present.

"He took me into the bedroom after everyone else had gone to school and laid me down on the floor.

"He ran his hands up me and took my skirt off but I can't fully recall what happened next.

"I blocked it out of my head because it happened at such a young age, but I knew it was very bad.

"It began to happen again after that, but it wasn't a regular thing."

"Over this time I would let him into mum's house while everyone was out. I'd make him cups of tea and then he'd turn and abuse me and leave before mum came back.

"I remember he took me into his bed and performed oral sex when I must have been nine or ten.

"He was a completely Jekyl and Hyde character, he would go from the best dad in the world to a sexual predator.

"I remember looking at his face and there was another man, his whole demeanour would change in the blink of an eye."

Layla started drinking heavily when she was just 14 after her dad groomed her, giving her alcohol from a young age.

Mum-of-four Layla handed the film to Nottinghamshire Police in February 2013 and the force launched an investigation.

Prescott denied the charges, but was jailed at Nottingham Crown Court for 12 years in May last year.

Bravely waiving her right to anonymity to speak out, Layla said: “When I was younger I was always the favourite of my dad.

Layla then says: “No Dad, no. Bed time, come on. Give me my bag back. I thought you were trying to call someone then.”

Prescott says: “What like Jimmy Savile? How the hell am I meant to find any females around here.”

Layla then leaves Prescott in his bed and walks out of the property, but she did not hand the footage to police until February 2013.

She said: “I kept it to myself, I was drinking heavily. I couldn’t bring myself to do it.

“When I finally did he was never arrested until his trial (on May 18) last year.

“Even though I had the recording he still made me go through the trial.”

Teenage girl who was raped and impregnated by her stepfather to have an abortion.

A local court sitting in New Delhi, India ruled on Tuesday that doctors were free to conduct an abortion on a 10-year-old girl who was raped and impregnated by her stepfather, a day laborer in his early 20s, India today reported.

According to authorities, the victim's mother had requested the court to allow the abortion of the foetus after she was repeatedly raped by her stepfather who already has been arrested and detained at a police station in the northern town of Rohtak.

The pregnancy came to light last week after the girl’s mother suspected her child was pregnant and took her to see a doctor, who confirmed that she was between 18 to 22 weeks pregnant.

Worthy of note is that, Indian law does not permit abortions after 20 weeks unless the woman's life is in danger. But after the medical board of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGI) comprising of seven doctors including three gynecologists met in court Tuesday for the case, they decided to abort the five-month-old foetus of  the 10-year-old rape victim.

Confirming the court ruling on Wednesday, Dr. S. K. Dhattarwal, head of the medical team, said that, with the court decision, the medical board would perform the procedure as soon as possible.

He said that if the victim was to keep the pregnancy she 'will face psychological trauma; the pregnancy is not that advanced now.” On that basis, he added, 'We have started the process during the day today.”

EXPOSED: Three minors raped by 52-year-old man

A 52-year-old man, John Udensi, pleaded guilty before a Jos High Court to raping three minors, aged 10, 11 and 13. Udensi, a resident of Angwan-Boarder, Tudun Wada in Jos, is standing trial on a three-count of rape.

The trial judge, Justice Nafisa Musa, after listening to his plea, adjourned the matter to June 19, to enable the prosecution place all facts before the court, in view of the plea of guilt.

Musa gave the adjournment after the counsel for the accused, Mr David Adudu, prayed the court for an adjournment to enable the prosecution and defense review facts in view of the accused person’s plea of guilt.


The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the accused person was first arraigned on November 25, 2015, and was specifically accused of raping three girls.

The prosecutor, C. R. Parlong, of the Plateau Ministry of Justice, had told the court that the accused person committed the crime at his home, on different dates in 2015.

He alleged that Udensi lured the victims into his room to watch Television and raped them.

Parlong told the court that the accused had informed the police, in a confessional statement, that he committed the crime on Oct. 9, Nov. 18 and Nov. 20, 2015 at his home in Tudun Wada.

The prosecutor quoted the accused person as saying that the first and second victims entered his room while he was watching Television and started “touching” him.

According to the statement, the accused person warned her to stop, but she refused.

“The girl continued to touch me until we had sex with her while the second victim watched. Not long after, the second girl also entered my room to watch Television but ended up having sex with me,” the accused stated, while admitting that the sex sessions were repeated several times thereafter.

The prosecutor further quoted the accused as saying that he later lured another girl, aged 13, into his room and had sex with her but was unlucky as a crowd trooped into his house and beat him up before handing him over to the police.

The prosecutor said that the offense contravened section 283 of the Penal Code, an offense punishable with life imprisonment upon conviction.

The singer has not been arrested, questioned or charged with any offence, but police have launched an investigation into the woman's claims.

A source told The Sun that he was 'petrified' after his name circulated on the internet.

The woman says she was plied with champagne by the singer who then pinned her down and attacked her in his hotel suite in the 1970s in an ordeal that 'affected [her] entire life'.

The alleged victim claims she was invited to the star's hotel after being chosen from the crowd by his bodyguard.

She says she was left covered in bruises following the alleged attack which has left her struggling to have relationships with men.

The girl was attending the concert with a 13-year-old friend after being given free tickets, according to The Sun.

They are said to have hoped for the solo star's autograph but the 'naive' 14-year-old was separated from her friend and taken to the performer's hotel room.

Breaking:Nun nabbed for helping priests sexually abuse dozens of deaf children at Argentinian Catholic school

A Roman Catholic nun from Japan, Kosaka Kumiko, 42, has been arrested and charged on suspicion of helping priests sexually abuse children at a school for youths with hearing disabilities in Argentina. Kumiko reportedly helped the priests with anal and vaginal rapes, fondling and oral sex, allegedly committed in bathrooms, dormitories, garden and a basement at the school in Lujan de Cuyo.

The children said the two Roman Catholic priests continuously raped them beside the image of the Virgin Mary.


The case against Kumiko began after a former student accused her of making her wear a diaper to cover up a hemorrhage. This was after she was raped by priest Horacio Corbacho.

At least 24 students from the Provolo Institute have come forward to accuse Corbacho, another priest named Nicola Corradi and three other men.

Kumiko, who's presently in custody at a local women's prison while detectives investigate the alleged crimes. however denied any wrongdoing during an eight-hour court hearing, maintaining her innocence.

Police arrested the five accused men last November, finding a slew of pornographic magazines and about $34,000 in Corradi’s room. If found guilty, they face up to 50 years in prison. Corradi had earlier been accused in Italy of abusing students at the Provolo Institute in Verona, a school for the deaf where hundreds of children are believed to have been sexually assaulted over the years by two dozen priests and religious brothers.

Three school employees were also arrested. Investigators are looking into more than 30 testimonies against the priests and teaching staff.

Four men who gang-raped woman on bus will be hanged in Singapore

The attackers were sentenced to death in 2013 by the trial court while the fifth hanged himself in prison during the original seven-month case.

The verdict was upheld by the high court in 2014 but the attackers – Vinay Sharma, Akshay Kumar Thakur, Pawan Gupta, and Mukesh Singh – appealed to the Supreme Court.
Today their sentences were upheld and they now face execution.

It also shone a spotlight on what women’s groups call a rape epidemic in the country.
In 2015, police registered more than 34,000 rape complaints and 84,000 women filed sexual harassment cases, according to the National Crime Records Bureau.

Authorities have stiffened penalties against sex crimes, introduced fast-track trials in rape cases and made stalking a crime.

A.P. Singh, a lawyer representing three of the condemned men, said justice had not been done. He vowed to file a review petition to the chief justice of the Supreme Court.

Nigerian man arrested for allegedly raping 47-year-old woman in the US

A 53-year-old Nigerian man who worked at a group home in Raleigh, North Carolina was arrested last month after he allegedly raped a 47-year-old woman who lives there.

Police accused Nnamdi Godson Nwankwo of Rolesville of second-degree forcible rape and sexual activity by a substitute parent. Both charges are felonies. 41-year-old man bags 13 years jail term for raping five-year-old girl

UNITED KINGDOM - A 41-year-old man who raped a five-year-old girl in Croydon, UK has been jailed for 13 years.

Jerry Ablorh of Bensham Grove, Thornton Heath, was sentenced on Friday, April 28, at Croydon Crown Court having previously been found guilty of rape and two counts of sexual assault by penetration.

He attacked the girl at his former home in Collyer Avenue, Croydon between January and December 2014.

The court heard that Ablorh had befriended the victim and her mother and worked hard to build up their trust. He looked after the victim to help out her mother and took her to the park, sending photos to reassure her mum everything was okay. He got the victim to refer to him as 'Uncle John' and also gave her mum a false name of 'Eugene'.

Ablorh took the victim to his home - an outhouse he was renting in a garden in Collyer Avenue, Croydon - where he raped her. He said her mother would die if she told anyone.

Two years passed and Ablorh drifted out of the family's life before the victim managed to tell her mum what had happened. The matter was reported to police in October 2016 and the victim interviewed by trained officers. She sobbed throughout as she relived her ordeal, and she told them about being raped as well as further offences of sexual assault.

Ablorh went to ground; police believe he knew officers were looking for him. The manhunt team from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command joined the hunt for him but to no avail. Arrest enquiries attempted at various addresses with the help of the Territorial Support Group also proved fruitless.

Ablorh was eventually seen on New Year's Eve outside a church in Croydon and police were called.
In interview he denied any wrong-doing but was charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault by penetration. He stood trial with the victim, now eight, having to give evidence via live video link. The jury found Ablorh guilty of three offences and acquitted him of two.

Investigating officer PC Laura Davis, from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said:
"Ablorh's crimes were despicable. He singled out the victim before launching his attack. It was clearly the most horrible and terrifying experience for her, a girl of just five years old.
"There is every chance Ablorh has abused more children who have yet to come forward. We would appeal for anyone with information to contact us in confidence."

Medical doctor appears in Court for allegedly raping patient

An Upper Area Court sitting at Pankshin in Plateau on Friday remanded a medical doctor, Philemon Brazil, in prison for allegedly raping his patient.

Brazil, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The Judge, Mr Joseph Chollom ordered the remand of Brazil in custody and adjourned the case to May 22 for further mention.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Singbon Hosea, told court that the defendant committed the offence on April 25 at the home of his victim.

Hosea explained that the rape victim had a history of miscarriages and had been a patient of the doctor before the incident.

“But my lord, on that fateful day, April 25, when he visited the patient as usual, he went too far by forcing himself on her and ended up raping her.

“By that action, the accused has committed offences of rape and act of gross indecency, contrary to and punishable under Section 283 and 285 of the Penal Code.’’

He said that after the arrest of the doctor, the police conducted HIV test on him and that the result was negative.

Hosea also told court that after the rape, the woman suffered yet another miscarriage.

The prosecutor asked court to remand the accused in prison, pending completion of investigation on the matter.

The woman says she left the room before going back because she had forgotten to get his autograph.

And when she went back, she says the star cupped her face and promised to stay in touch.

She added that she only realised later when she was showering that she was covered in bruises and that she'd been traumatised for years over the incident that she was too scared to tell her friends and family members about.

A Malaysian MP has drawn outrage for saying it can be OK for rapists to marry their victims and that some 12-year-old girls were "physically and spiritually" ready to get married.

Shabudin Yahaya from the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition said marriage could help victims "lead a better life".

Malaysia, a Muslim-majority country, has just passed a new law on sexual offences against children.
Despite opposition efforts, the law does not ban child marriages.

It remains legal for Muslims under 16 to get married in Malaysia under certain circumstances.

Speaking during a parliamentary debate on the bill on Tuesday, Mr Shabudin said that although rape was considered a criminal offence, the rapist and the victim should both be "given a second chance to turn a new leaf".

"Perhaps through marriage they [the rape victim and rapist] can lead a healthier, better life. And the person who was raped will not necessarily have a bleak future.

"She will have a husband at least, and this could serve as a remedy to growing social problems," he said.

He also said some children were "physically and spiritually" ready for marriage.

"Some girls who are aged between 12 and 15 years have bodies like 18-year-old women," he said, citing his experience as a former Sharia court judge.

He later said his comments had been taken out of context, but that he opposed criminalising child marriages as they are a part of Islamic law, Reuters reports.

In Malaysia, there has been an increasing emphasis on strict Islamic codes of conduct in recent years.

Sharmila Sekaran, chair of the Malaysia's Voice of the Children NGO, said the politician's words represented a "worrying trend" for young girls.

"You have politicians like him, giving voice to dangerous statements and backward views. It only serves to reinforce the view that rape is ok," Ms Sekaran told BBC News.

She described his argument that children could marry as "flawed and unsupported by any evidence".
"Sharia courts are full of divorces among young couples. There is a very, very high rate of divorce and re-marriage among couples in Malaysia."

Ms Sekaran, who was present in parliament on Tuesday, said most people there had been "outraged" by Mr Shabudin's remark.
