Sports Update: Tottenham Hotspur collapse at London Stadium

Tottenham collapse at London Stadium
Chelsea FC now need just two wins out of the four games remaining in the English Premier League to seal the title for the season. Thanks to West Ham that derailed Tottenham Hotspur from their hot pursuit after a 1-0 victory  in the match played today at London Stadium.

It was watched by about 57,000 people.

A goal by Manuel Lanzini in the 65th minute was all that West Ham needed to  dent Tottenham Hotspur’s title ambitions and to extricate  themselves totally from the zone of relegation. They are now 9th on the table with 42 points.

Harry Kane had the brightest chance in the first half to shoot Tottenham ahead, but his shot was saved by the outstretched leg of Adrian.

In the second half, the hosts  continued to frustrate their London rivals, only for them to take the lead  on 65 minutes, with Lanzini pouncing on a loose ball after Spurs could not clear their area.

Spurs would not play again until Chelsea play their next two games against Middlesbrough on Monday and West Bromwich Albion next Friday.

If they win the two matches, they  will claim their fifth Premier League crown.

And it means, Spurs would settle for the second position.
