TWO HOMELESS men and their dog found living rough in a car park were mocked by cruel trolls until a kind-hearted stranger stepped in to help.

A picture of the pair sleeping in the multi-storey in Gloucester city centre was posted to a community Facebook page by accident and people began making fun of them.

Steve Currie, from Gloucester, was so appalled at the comments he decided to launch a fundraising page to get £1,000 to try and help them.

He said: “I’ve always wanted to help homeless people but wasn’t sure how and when I saw a photo on the Gloucester spotted page that someone posted making fun of these 2 homeless people in a car park I decided to take action.

“I set a target of £1,000 but in a perfect world I’d like to raise enough to get them off the streets permanently.”

He’s set up a GoFundMe page with the aim of helping the mystery man and his dog get back on their feet.
On the page he wrote: “I saw this guy being made fun of on social media by someone going past in their nice warm car in a Gloucester car park and decided to do something about it.

“I’ve always wanted to help the homeless but didn’t know how. I’m hoping to raise £1000 and hope it makes some kind of difference to him, but anything would be good. Hopefully the power of social media can change his life. No one should be living like this in 2017.”
The appeal has already raised more than £280 and has prompted some more constructive and supportive comments online.
