Air Peace has announced its plan to launch itself on the international route, following the training of four of its pilots in the handling of Boeing 777 aircraft.
The airline made the announcement in a statement issued by its Communications Manager, Mr Chris Iwarah on Thursday in Lagos.
Iwarah said the training, which took place at the Boeing Training Centre in the United Kingdom, was the first by any Nigerian airline
He said the carrier’s Chief Pilots, Capt. Victor Egonu, Capt. Victor Iwo Brown, Senior First Officer Ahmad Abdullahi and First Officer Emmanuel Iwhiwhu participated in the training which ended on April 16.
According to him, the airline launched its regional operations with its maiden flight to Accra-Ghana on February 16.
Iwarah said Air Peace had been designated by the Federal Government to fly into Johannesburg, London, Atlanta, Mumbai, Dubai and Mumbai and Guangzhou-China.
He said the airline would be acquiring more aircraft, including some B777s to beef up its rapidly growing fleet.
Iwarah noted that Air Peace was going to deploy its B777 aircraft to service its long-haul routes, stressing that no Nigerian airline had ever used a B777 aircraft.
He added that more pilots would soon go for their training in the operation of B777 aircraft.
